Java Developer - LMDThis position is for a Java Developer to work on last-mile delivery acceleration projects. The role involves optimizing the process of delivering packages from stores to customers, supporting functionalities like real-time order tracking, delivery scheduling, and route optimization. The successful candidate will contribute to a system that integrates with various third-party delivery services to enhance coverage and efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop innovation strategies, processes, and best practices.Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects.Lead the discovery phase of medium to large projects to develop high-level design.Lead a small group of 3 to 4 engineers for assigned engineering projects.Lead and participate in end-to-end service implementations, data feeds ingestion, and orchestration.Troubleshoot business and production issues.Required QualificationsA minimum of 6 years of experience in Java, Kafka, Spring, and Web Services is required.Technical SkillsProficiency in Core Java, Kafka, design patterns, and concurrency concepts, including partitioning and consistent hashing.Hands-on experience with object-oriented design principles, such as selecting between an interface and an abstract class, and REST API design with a focus on versioning and backward compatibility.A deep understanding of Kafka's concurrency model.Understanding of concepts like the CAP theorem, eventual consistency, Spring Boot annotations, the principle of dependency injection, and Spring JPA.Preferred QualificationsExperience with NoSQL.Previous experience in the retail industry.Work EnvironmentThis position requires the candidate to be onsite in Sunnyvale, California, for 2 days per week.
