The Senior Manager position has a potential base salary of up to $200K plus performance-based bonuses.The Tax Supervising Senior role involves overseeing the accurate and timely preparation of all clients' tax returns. This position requires advanced technical skills in various tax and accounting areas, as well as strong management and supervisory abilities. The Tax Supervising Senior is responsible for making decisions on complex tax situations.ResponsibilitiesReview and approve tax returns and handle tax examinations of varying complexity.Manage larger tax returns and delegate tasks to tax preparers when necessary.Participate in client meetings and assist with tax planning for larger clients.Prepare complex business tax returns.Provide client service for assigned clients directly or through delegation from higher-ups.Oversee and manage governmental tax examinations; represent clients before taxing authorities.Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the firm's tax philosophy and opinions.Occasionally travel for client meetings, seminars, and work at clients' offices using personal transportation.Occasionally travel out-of-town with overnight stays for client work, meetings, and seminars using personal transportation.Work overtime as needed throughout the year, with heavy overtime during tax season.Contribute to the firm's practice development through engagement with referral sources and industry activities.Supervisory Responsibilities:Develop and train senior, semi-senior, and staff accountants.Review staff qualifications and assignments for appropriateness.Supervise tax staff and provide on-the-job training.Evaluate performance, develop training materials, and lead professional development programs.QualificationsMinimum three years of public accounting experience, with a track record of handling increasingly complex tax returns and research.At least two years of experience representing clients before taxing authorities for Supervisors.Minimum one year of experience supervising tax preparers.Bachelor's degree in accounting required; master's degree in taxation preferred.CPA license or in progress of obtaining one.Forty hours of annual continuing education to enhance technical and business skills.
